Phil Steele Has One Top-25 Team On Upset Alert Saturday

ESPN college football expert Phil Steele thinks one top 25 team is in trouble on Saturday.

USC lost its second game of the season last week - to rival Notre Dame in ugly fashion. One college football expert thinks that the Trojans could be in line to fall again this weekend, this time to an unranked opponent.

Phil Steele thinks that Arizona State (-3.5) is a great pick against USC. He notes that the Sun Devils already beat Washington earlier this year.

Steele accidentally calls Arizona State the Wildcats. We have a feeling he knows the difference, though.

"They've been delivering for me week after week and they're still undervalued. Arizona State. They're plus 3.5 against USC this week. Last year, Arizona State was a banged-up team. They were missing 20, 25 players per week. Sometimes 7-11 starters.

This year they're healthy. They only have two players on the injury list. They've been delivering. Their defense has played a lot better. They held Washington to seven points, Utah to 10 last week. They're at home, it's at night.

Now USC looks like Arizona State last year. They've got 20+ players on the injury list. They played a physical Utah team, traveled to Notre Dame and now they've got to travel here to Arizona State. Plus they've got their second loss of the season, national title hopes gone. I think Arizona State comes in with a little extra oomph in their step. They could very well pull the upset. I'll take Arizona State plus the 3.5"

USC and Arizona State will get underway at 10:45 PM ET.
