Photos: Now Ed Orgeron And USC Are Trying To Steal PSU's "Linebacker U" Moniker

There must be something in the water in Los Angeles. Earlier this offseason, UCLA tried to steal the nickname "Linebacker U" from Penn State -- of course, that didn't sit well at all with the Nittany Lions.

Now, another school wants that nickname -- of course, it's the University of Southern California. Assistant head coach Ed Orgeron has started a little Twitter campaign to get USC known as Linebacker U:

I really don't know why schools just don't leave that nickname alone -- Penn State established it as its own a long time ago. It seems like USC just wanted in on this battle to go against rival UCLA.

Also, didn't USC already name itself Wide Receiver U?
