Ronald Jones is wearing No. 4 at today's Rose Bowl against Penn State to honor Joe McKnight, the former USC star who was killed last month.
Jones was spotted warming up in McKnight's old jersey moments ago, and it appears that he will switch from his normal No. 25 for today's game.
McKnight, who played running back at USC from 2007-2010, played in two Rose Bowls during his collegiate career. The 2008 game against Illinois was one of the most notable of his college career. He totaled 206 yards and a touchdown, including 125 rushing yards on 10 carries in that 49-17 Trojans win. USC returned to the Rose Bowl the following season and beat Penn State 38-24. McKnight was less prolific in that one, with 22 yards.
Jones will be a key player for USC today. He has 1,027 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season, and has topped 120 yards in four of USC's last five games. Penn State running back Saquon Barkley has gotten most of the headlines entering this one, but Jones has put together a fantastic season.
