Sam Darnold isn't having his best game against Ohio State.
USC quarterback Sam Darnold is considered one of the top signal-callers in college football, and there are many who believe that he could be the No. 1 pick in this year's upcoming NFL Draft. But Friday night, he's struggling mightily against Ohio State.
Darnold, nearing halftime, is just 9-of-16 for 125 yards with an interception (that was returned for a touchdown) and a lost fumble. His team, in the process, trails the Buckeyes by a score of 24-0.
The Cleveland Browns, still winless at 0-15, have the No. 1 pick in next year's NFL Draft. Fans are joking that Darnold looks like he'll be the No. 1 pick - because he's looking like a Browns quarterback tonight.
Darnold is one of college football's most prolific passers, and there's no doubt that he's one of the most gifted signal-callers in the country. But he's turned the ball over 21 times this year, and that's a statistic that NFL coaches and GMs won't like seeing. He'll have a big decision on his hands in a few hours.
