Monday night belongs to the College Football Playoff national title game between Alabama and Clemson. However, that doesn’t mean the rest of the college football world stops as the title game is in action.
A former top recruit decided tonight was the proper time to announce he’s leaving his college program. Former 5-star defensive end recruit Oluwole Betiku Jr. took to Twitter on Monday night to reveal he’s leaving the USC Trojans football program.
“I would like to thank coach Helton and the USC football program for the opportunity over the past 3 seasons. As for my future plans. I look to pursue my masters degree and further my football career at another institution,” Betiku wrote on Twitter.

Betiku was the No. 1 weak side defensive end recruit in the 2016 class and the No. 15 recruit overall. He picked USC over offers from programs like Alabama, Florida State and Notre Dame.
