USC Makes Change At QB; Sam Darnold Will Start This Week

USC has made a change at quarterback. Sam Darnold will be under center when the Trojans travel to Utah this Friday.

Darnold, a redshirt freshman, replaces Max Browne, who started the first three games of the season. USC head coach Clay Helton announced the news tonight.

Through three games, Browne was 55-of-87 for 474 yards with two touchdowns and interceptions. Darnold was 14-of-22 for 136 yards, two scores and one INT in relief.

The Trojans scored just one offensive touchdown in two losses to Alabama and Stanford, getting outscored 79-16.

USC takes on Utah at 9 p.m. ET Friday on FS1.
