Two Pac-12 teams that are unranked but flying under the radar this year face off in Week 8 as USC takes on Arizona at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
USC started the season 3-1, climbing as high as No. 21 in the polls in the process. But back-to-back losses to Washington and Notre Dame have the Trojans floundering in the middle of the Pac-12 South standings. Nevertheless, despite all of the sky-is-falling rhetoric out there, USC controls its own destiny in the Pac-12 title race. The Trojans are 2-1 in conference play and are the only team to beat Utah this year.
Arizona began its campaign in impressive fashion with a 4-1 start capped off by wins over Texas Tech and Colorado. But the Wildcats were humbled last week by Washington, losing 51-27 after building a first-half lead. Much like USC, the Wildcats also control their own destiny.
Despite USC’s recent form though, the Trojans will be pretty big favorites in this one. They’ll be favored to win by two scores at the Coliseum.
