USC vs. Arizona – Game Time, TV Schedule, Line, Preview, Predictions

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the college football season, at least so far, is Arizona posting a 5-0 record and sitting in first place in the Pac-12 South. The Wildcats, a week after surviving Cal on a Hail Mary touchdown pass as time expired, took down No. 2 Oregon on the road last Thursday night. They enter their game against Stanford ranked No. 10 in the AP Poll.

USC, on the other hand, has struggled with consistency this year. The Trojans knocked off Stanford, were run over by Boston College, rebounded against Oregon State and then lost on the game's final play against Arizona State. They're still alive in the race for the Pac-12 South, but Saturday's game is probably a must-win at this point.

Prediction: Despite Arizona's high ranking and undefeated record, there are plenty in the industry who think the Wildcats are a bit overrated. It looks like Las Vegas does too, since Arizona is an underdog at home to the 3-2 Trojans. There isn't much to argue on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback Anu Solomon has throw 14 touchdowns against just four interceptions so far this year, and the running game is averaging 224 yards per game. But the Wildcats' defense, ranked 75th in the nation in terms of points against, could be an issue moving forward.

If it weren't for two Hail Mary plays - one that Arizona pulled off against Cal, and one that Arizona State pulled off against USC, these two teams would have identical 4-1 records. So it's no stretch that the Trojans are slight favorites in this game, despite their two losses. That being said, if USC can't slow down Arizona through the air, it could be a long day. Arizona State backup quarterback Mike Bercovici threw for 510 yards and five touchdowns last week.

We'll take USC to win and cover on the road. Arizona has been a nice story, but against a Trojans team that knows it needs to win, we think the run ends.
