Unlike most students, many college football players don't get the chance to head home for an extended period of time for the holidays. Those on bowl teams spend the weeks leading up to Christmas practicing, traveling, and playing in those games. USC plays in San Diego on December 30 in the Holiday Bowl against Wisconsin, but tight end Connor Spears was able to make a trip home to South Dakota to surprise his mother for Christmas.
