Colin Cowherd is sure that one team in particular will be playing for the college football national championship.
Speaking today on his show "The Herd" on FS1, Colin Cowherd remarked that he attended USC's spring game over the weekend. Cowherd has talked up the Trojan program in the past, and he's very high on this year's squad.
In the clip below, Cowherd predicts that USC will be playing for the national championship. While he views Florida State as the top team in the country, Cowherd calls this USC defense the best the program has had since the Pete Carroll days.
"They are loaded," Cowherd said. "Defensively, they are absolutely loaded."
With regards to USC, Cowherd's take isn't really a hot one. The Trojans absolutely should contend for a national title given their returning talent and the fact they have a potential Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 overall draft pick at quarterback in Sam Darnold.
Now, we'll just have to wait and see once they start playing the games.
USC opens up its 2017 season against Western Michigan on Sept. 2.
