Former Utah All-American Tom Hackett: "More Than Likely" That Utes Add Oregon's Darren Carrington

Utah football may be close to adding a big-time player from another Pac-12 program: Oregon's Darren Carrington.

Carrington was dismissed from the Oregon program last week after being arrested for DUI earlier this month.

He graduated from Oregon this spring, and is eligible to play right away for another team.

On Wednesday, columnist John Canzano of The Oregonian said that multiple Pac-12 programs expressed interest in Carrington, and that he was on a visit to Utah.

Now, Tom Hackett—a former All-American punter and Ray Guy winner for the Utes and current ESPN Radio host—says that he has heard that Carrington to Utah is a distinct possibility.

Carrington was a second team All-Pac 12 receiver in 2015. In three seasons with the Ducks, he caught 112 passes for 1,919 yards and 15 touchdowns. He has had a number of off-field issues during his collegiate career, even before this DUI, but I'm sure there are a number of teams that will take him on for one final season.
