Utah hosts College GameDay on Saturday ahead of its huge game with Washington. Who will the Utah College GameDay guest picker be? Here's our best guess:
On Friday morning, local radio host Brian Martin tweeted that GameDay host Rece Davis dropped a very vague hint about the guest picker. The riddle-like hint: the picker "will feel more like one person."
Responses to that tweet brought up some interesting possibilities. Karl Malone and John Stockton were basically inseparable as Hall of Fame members of the Utah Jazz from 1985-2003. Former Ute star and future NFL Hall of Famer Steve Smith is on bye with the Baltimore Ravens, though he doesn't really fit the riddle at all.
However, one Utah institution makes perfect sense, and if true, it will be one of the most interesting choices they've had in a while:
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
The Choir, which has existed for over 100 years, has 360 members, so the logistics could be tricky, considering how crazy GameDay gets as is. However, hearing them make their picks in unison could be pretty cool. If this ends up being the answer, props for creativity to the folks at GameDay. It definitely mixes it up from the deluge of country singers and former athletes that we often get.
