Utah is one win over Oregon and a Georgia loss to LSU away from reaching its first College Football Playoff. It would be a monumental accomplishment for the Pac-12 program.
At least one national pundit isn’t excited about the prospect of the Utes making the playoff. ESPN’s Paul Finebaum said earlier today that the country doesn’t want Utah to crack the four-team field.
“Let’s be honest, the country does not want to see Utah in the College Football Playoff. I’m sorry. It’s Utah,” Finebaum said during his weekly appearance on Get Up!.
Predictably, Utah is using Finebaum’s words as motivation heading into Friday’s Pac-12 Championship Game. The program said so itself on Twitter today.
“Thanks for the bulletin board material, @finebaum. Keep it coming,” read the tweet from the official Utah account.

Good for the Utes. They may not get the media hype of other programs, but this is a legitimately strong team with both a stout defense and weapons on offense.
Utah will face Oregon for the Pac-12 title at 8 p.m. ET Friday on ABC.
