The College GameDay Wazzu Flag...At The Vatican?

Photoshopped? Maybe. Awesome? ABSOLUTELY.

On Wednesday, Catholics worldwide celebrated the election of their new leader, Jose Mario Bergoglio, now known as Pope Francis. Tens of thousands of followers flocked to Vatican City to see what would be history in the making, as Francis became the first pope from the Americas.

Of course, this is also the first pope to be selected since the rise of the almighty snarkfest known as Twitter, and jokes about the papacy in 140 characters quickly took over the Internet, from the obvious reference to Stripes to the fun fact that there was a 10th century pope named Pope Lando.

But nothing was as funny or as clever as this photo, which was clearly photoshopped but nonetheless a great nod to the greatest show on ESPN and one of the greatest traditions in college sports: the Wazzu GameDay Flag.
