Four-star linebacker Ale Kaho was one of the top recruits to sign with Washington in the 2018 cycle. Kaho enrolled at UW in June.
Now, he has obtained his release from the program. Washington head coach Chris Petersen confirmed that Kaho has his release this evening.
Kaho originally requested to be released last week.
He was the No. 7 inside linebacker in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.
Unfortunately, it seems like Kaho is going through a lot of personal issues at this time. He has reportedly suffered two deaths in his family and his parents are working through a divorce.
“He’s going through some issues and he’s trying to work through them,” Washington co-defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski said on Friday. “There’s been a little dialogue there. But it is what it is, so we’ve got to let it play out.”
This is an absolutely awful situation that Kaho is dealing with. We wish him the best as he looks for the next stop in his football career, but more importantly, we wish him the best off the field where it matters most.
