Federal Way (Wash.) five-star power forward Jaden McDaniels announced his commitment overnight. He is staying home and will play for the Washington Huskies.
McDaniels, the top-rated power forward and the No. 8 overall recruit in the 2019 class, chose the Huskies over Kentucky, San Diego State and others. He is the second five-star commit for UW in the 2019 cycle, joining center Isaiah Stewart.
McDaniels is the younger brother of San Diego State star and NBA Draft hopeful Jalen McDaniels.

McDaniels’ commitment solidifies Washington’s top-10 recruiting class for 2019. The Huskies also have the top haul in the Pac-12.
Joining McDaniels and Stewart are four-star shooting guard RaeQuan Battle and three-star point guard Marcus Tsohonis. Washington also landed five-star transfer Quade Green from Kentucky.
In their second year under Mike Hopkins, Washington went 27-9 and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Expectations will be raised in Seattle in 2019-20.
Expect plenty of preseason hype around the Huskies.
