College football’s 2019 recruiting cycle is officially wrapping up today with the second of two National Signing Days taking place.
The day isn’t over yet, of course, but a winner has already been declared.
Shockingly, it’s Alabama.
247Sports has named the Crimson Tide the winner of this year’s recruiting cycle and it’s not particularly close.
“Still a few precincts left to report, but we’re calling the race for Alabama. After a year away from the top spot, the Crimson Tide put together one of the best recruiting classes in history,” 247Sports announced.

Alabama’s 2019 class is one of its best under head coach Nick Saban and that’s a pretty scary thought for the rest of the college football world, considering how great the program’s recruiting has been under his leadership.
Alabama is simply chasing history at this point. With more of the day left to unfold, Alabama has an opportunity to piece together one of the highest ranked classes of all time. When the dust settles on Wednesday, Alabama is likely to be sitting in the top five of all time and as of this publication, Saban could still finish with his highest ranked class ever, topping the Tua Tagovailoa-led 2017 class. This class already features the highest average ranking per commitment of any class in Nick Saban’s tenure.
