The daughter of former Alabama football star David Palmer has been missing since Sunday, according to family members. Police and relatives are still searching for her.

According to, Davida Palmer, 28, was last seen on Sunday in Birmingham, where she lives. Palmer was supposed to take her daughter to cheerleading practice on Monday, and when she didn't show up, friends and relatives became concerned.

Palmer's mother LaTonja Samuels and other family members were unable to get in touch with her, and a visit to her apartment raised more red flags.

Unable to sleep, Samuels drove to Palmer's home in the 5200 block of Court P in Ensley about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. "It was still pitch-black dark,'' Samuels said. She found her daughter's car doors open and the keys were still in the vehicle.

The front door to Palmer's home was open and the house was in disarray.

Palmer's family has received reports of possible sightings, but none have actually been her.

We can't imagine what the family is going through, and we're praying she is found safe and unharmed.

If you have any information on Palmer's whereabouts, you can phone the Birmingham police at 205-297-8418. Additionally, you can reach Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
