An Alabama defensive lineman fired back at UCF today.

Since UCF capped off an undefeated season with a Peach Bowl win over Auburn, there has been a national championship crusade from the Knights.

UCF has declared itself national champions, and athletic director Danny White even paid head coach Scott Frosh and his assistants championship bonuses. There's even been a cry to expand the College Football Playoff after the Knights were left out despite going undefeated and winning the AAC.

Today, UCF is at the Pro Bowl in Hawaii. A tweet from the program's official twitter read in part "Rain or shine, the champs are in the house."

Alabama defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs didn't take kindly to that tweet.

He promptly issued a challenge to UCF.

"Since y'all wanna be champs so bad y'all schedule BAMA then‼️‼️" Buggs tweeted in response.

While Alabama fans are probably happy the Knights beat their rival, Auburn, in the Peach Bowl, they don't want to think about sharing the national title.

For what it's worth, multiple betting experts said Alabama would have been a heavy favorite if it played UCF. The Tide would have been giving three touchdowns worth of points.

It is fun to imagine a hypothetical matchup, but unfortunately it didn't happen.
