Alabama QB Blake Barnett Praises Crimson Tide 4-Star Commit Tua Tagovailoa For Performance At The Opening

Tua Tagovailoa shined at The Opening Finals in Oregon today. The four-star dual-threat quarterback in the 2017 class committed to Alabama led his 7-on-7 team to the tournament's championship. He earned constant praise from the recruiting analysts covering the event.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound prospect from Hawaii was named MVP of the 7-on-7 tournament earlier this evening.

Tagovailoa has also earned the praise of one of Alabama's current QBs.

Blake Barnett, a redshirt freshman quarterback for the Crimson Tide (and a former five-star recruit himself), took to Twitter to congratulate Tagovailoa on his performance.

Barnett knows what it's like to be named MVP of a big recruiting event. He was named the MVP of the Elite 11 quarterback competition in 2014.

Tagovailoa is ranked the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the class and the No. 60 player overall by 247Sports' Composite Rankings

Alabama hasn't been known for its elite quarterback play during the Nick Saban era, but it looks like that might be changing in the seasons to come.
