Alabama quarterback Blake Sims had the best game of his young career against Florida this past Saturday, as he threw for 445 yards and four touchdowns in his team's blowout victory. Perhaps it was all because of a good luck charm he was wearing on his right wrist.
Sims donned a purple bracelet that read "Kayla" this past Saturday to honor a 19-year-old Auburn student named Kayla Perry, who is currently courageously battling neuroblastoma. She posted a photo of Sims wearing the tribute on her Facebook page:
Needless to say, it's a heartwarming tale that once again proves that there are more important things in life than college football rivalries - even the Iron Bowl.
According to ESPN, a mutual acquaintance is trying to set up a meeting between Sims and Perry. Furthermore, another player, Auburn wideout Sammie Coates, wore the same charm on his wrist last week. It's awesome to see the entire state of Alabama coming together for her cause.
