Alabama's Nick Saban Responds To South Carolina Coach Steve Spurrier's Underachieving Comment

There's not much to critique about Nick Saban's performance as the head coach of Alabama's football program. The Crimson Tide's leader has won three national championships during his time in Tuscaloosa, where he's been since 2007.

Steve Spurrier poked at Saban's achievements, though, saying that it's possible the Alabama coach has underachieved with the Crimson Tide based on how great he's been on the recruiting trail.

Saban responded to that sentiment Thursday afternoon at SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala. Unsurprisingly, he's not bothered.

Recruiting success aside, it seems absurd to claim that a person who has won three national championships since 2009 has failed in any way. Alabama could win a fourth title this fall, too, as the Crimson Tide are expected to begin the 2014 season ranked No. 1 in the country.
