An anonymous college football coach is getting crushed for what he said about Alabama's star quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, heading into the 2019 season.

The coach, who spoke to Lindy's magazine, had some harsh words for the Heisman Trophy contending quarterback.

“I think Tua needs to humble himself,” he said. “I think he did some bad things in the bowl game that cost the team because he put himself ahead of the team. He needs to understand Alabama won national championships by playing great defense and special teams and not beating itself. In the national championship game, the quarterback play was atrocious, and some would say the play-calling, too.”

These comments are not sitting well with the college football world.

"The comments that surfaced Tuesday about Tua Tagovailoa and Alabama's defense aren't tethered to reality and are laughable," writes Aaron Suttles. called the anonymous coach a "filthy-mouthed coward."

One of Alabama's former rival head coaches, Tommy Tuberville, even got in on the ripping.

“He puts the ball on the money,” Tuberville said on WNSP-FM 105.5. “He throws in and out of the pocket. He takes a licking and keeps on ticking. He’s kind of like the Energizer bunny. I like him. I like the way he runs the team. In that game - right or wrong - he looked like he was taking it all on his shoulders.”

This won't be the last time Tua faces criticism, of course, but if he continues to play like he has, he'll always have plenty of people clapping back for him.
