Former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver ArDarius Stewart found himself in some serious trouble on Thursday morning. Stewart was reportedly arrested in Tuscaloosa County on Thursday morning and faces criminal charges.
According to WBRC, Stewart was arrested and charged with carrying a pistol without a license after his truck was pulled over by police. Per the report, police searched the vehicle after pulling Stewart over and found two handguns as well as a duffel bag with marijuana.
The duffel bag reportedly belonged to the truck’s passenger, Demarcus Marshall, who was himself arrested and charged with marijuana possession. The two men were reportedly taken to Tuscaloosa County Jail.

Stewart rose to fame as a member of the Crimson Tide from 2014 to 2016.
He finished second in receiving yards for Alabama behind Calvin Ridley in 2015. The following year he led the team in receiving yards with a career-high 864 yards and eight touchdowns.
But Stewart’s college excellence did not translate to the NFL.
After being drafted in the third round by the New York Jets in 2017, Stewart signed a four-year, $3.25 million deal. In his rookie season, he had 13 touches for 109 yards from scrimmage and a handful of kickoff returns.
Prior to the 2018 season, Stewart was suspended two games for a performance-enhancing substance violation. Upon returning from his suspension, the Jets cut him.
Stewart spent the remainder of the 2018 season on practice squads for the Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins.
He was cut by Washington at the start of the 2019 offseason.
