It’s one thing to lose to Alabama. It’s another to lose and get called out for playing dirty. Unfortunately the latter seems to be the case for Arkansas this weekend.
Arkansas knew it’d be facing an uphill battle against Alabama this afternoon. Nick Saban’s squad has been so explosive this season due to the offensive production from Najee Harris, Mac Jones and DeVonta Smith.
The Razorbacks haven’t been able to figure out the Crimson Tide’s offense. Instead, the defense has resorted to twisting ankles on the football field.
During the first half of this game, Arkansas tight end Nathan Bax rolled over Smith after a tackle and turned his ankle. Smith complained to the officiating crew about Bax’s tackle because he thought it was intentional.
No one truly knows if Bax purposely tried to injure Smith’s ankle, but the replay makes it seem like that was his intention.

Smith is arguably the best wide receiver in the country this season. It’d be so frustrating to see his year come to an end because of a dirty tackle.
While the Razorbacks have been a pleasant surprise this year, it’s really tough to see Sam Pittman’s players make headlines for boneheaded plays like this.
Pittman will most likely have to answer some questions about this particular tackle during his postgame press conference.
