Avery Johnson Hopes Freshmen Collin Sexton, John Petty Can Be The Next De'Aaron Fox, Malik Monk

Alabama head coach Avery Johnson has extremely high hopes for his two star freshmen.

Alabama hasn't enjoyed much success on the hardwood since the early 2000's, but with the No. 8 recruiting class in the nation coming in this year, things might be changing quick.

Alabama head coach Avery Johnson is all in on this year's freshmen class.

Johnson is hoping the top freshmen, Collin Sexton and John Petty, can be "his version of De'Aaron Fox and Malik Monk" according to ESPN's John Goodman.

Those are some pretty lofty expectations.

Malik Monk and De'Aaron Fox were absolute studs, going No. 5 and No. 11 respectively in this year's NBA Draft after leading the Kentucky Wildcats to the Elite Eight.

The Crimson Tide will certainly have a talented backcourt with Sexton and Petty, but the question remains how the rest of the team will stack up. Two guys can't do it alone.

Alabama has not made the NCAA Tournament since the 2011-2012 season.
