Blake Barnett transferring: the Alabama signal-caller has reportedly already left the Crimson Tide program.
Blake Barnett, who began the 2016 as the starting quarterback at Alabama, is no longer with the Crimson Tide, according to a report by AL.com. Barnett, who was pushed out of the starting job by freshman Jalen Hurts, has reportedly already left the program after deciding that he wants to transfer elsewhere.
Barnett, in three games, was 11-of-19 for 219 yards with two touchdowns. He did not record any statistics against Ole Miss.
Barnett, who was a five-star recruit for the 2015 class, was ranked as the No. 2 pro-style quarterback in the country, per 247 Sports. He had offers from 12 schools - but it likely would have been more if he weren't so committed to the Tide.
Alabama has yet to comment on the news. Barnett himself has stayed silent as well - and there's currently no indication regarding where he'll look to continue his collegiate career. We'll keep you updated.
