March can be a testy time of year for college basketball players and coaches. Bruce Pearl and an Alabama assistant got into a bit on Friday afternoon.
Auburn blew a 10-point halftime lead against rival Alabama on Friday afternoon, and it looks like some tempered flared after the contest ended. Tigers head coach Bruce Pearl reportedly "got into it" with an Alabama strength coach after the buzzer sounded in the handshake line.
Auburn, which is safely in the NCAA Tournament field, was outscored 50-22 in the second half against the Crimson Tide. Collin Sexton, one of the best guards in the country, scored 31 points on 10-of-16 shooting.
ESPN's cameras didn't catch the altercation between Pearl and the Alabama coach. But they did catch the aftermath - and it looks like Pearl was quite upset about whatever happened.
Auburn, after the loss, will probably drop down a seed line - possibly from a 3-seed to a 4-seed. Alabama, meanwhile, probably played itself into the tournament with the victory.
Alabama will move on to the semifinal of the SEC Tournament tomorrow.
