Butch Jones was 0-5 as Tennessee football head coach against Alabama, but his defenses never gave up over 50 points to the Crimson Tide.

He also never had to face Tua Tagovailoa.

The Crimson Tide went for 58 points and 545 total yards, in a 58-21 win at Neyland Stadium. Jones is now on staff at Alabama as an analyst, and his new players were happy that he got some revenge today after being fired last season.

After the game, Tua Tagovailoa led a group of players who gave Butch Jones a Gatorade bath on his old field.

From Sporting News writer Bill Bender:

Earlier in the week, Alabama's Josh Jacobs said that the players wanted to give Jones the chance to smoke the customary victory cigars that the Crimson Tide light up after wins against their rival.

I haven't seen those photos quite yet, but they could very well be coming, depending on how spiteful Jones feels tonight.

Butch Jones was 34-27 at Tennessee, but just 14-24 in SEC play. He was let go after a 4-6 start last season, including a 45-7 loss at Alabama.

The team finished 4-8 under interim coach Brady Hoke. After the year, and a crazy process, it hired Jeremy Pruitt away from Nick Saban's staff, and Saban took on Jones as his latest coaching reclamation project as an analyst.
