Most would agree that Joe Burrow is the best quarterback prospect in this year’s draft class. The former LSU passer had an incredible senior season.
Burrow threw for 5,671 yards and a staggering 60 touchdowns as opposed to just six interceptions. He also added five rushing scores in a record-breaking year. Some are even calling Burrow’s 2019 season the best in college football history.
There’s no question Burrow was the best player in college football last year. But former Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa may be just as talented as Burrow.
The former LSU QB is expected to go to the Cincinnati Bengals as the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. But Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd would take Tagovailoa over Burrow if he had the choice.

“I would take Tua No.1… I’ve never seen a college QB with numbers like his, ever,” Cowherd said during his show on Tuesday, via The Herd. “And he did it in the SEC.”
There’s no doubt Tagovailoa is an elite prospect. The debate between Burrow and the former Alabama QB is bound to heat up as the draft approaches.
Cowherd’s got some pretty solid reasons as to why he would take Tagovailoa with the No. 1 pick:
Tagovailoa’s injury history remains a big concern. But if he can remain healthy, there’s a chance the former Alabama QB will have a better NFL career than Burrow. Only time will tell.
