College football's Early Signing Period kicked off on Wednesday morning with a few huge commitments. One of the nation's top uncommitted recruits is five-star running back Trey Sanders, who was once committed to Alabama during his freshman season.
Once the recruiting process truly started for Sanders, he backed off of the commitment to Alabama, though the Tide remained at the top of his list. Over the past few months, Georgia made a charge and was expected to be a finalist for Sanders.
Heading into the Early Signing Period, Alabama was seen as the favorite with Georgia a distant second. Florida had an outside shot to land the in-state recruit as well.
Sanders revealed his decision just after 1:00 p.m. ET. He's headed to Alabama.
It's a huge get for Nick Saban and company who already own the No. 1 class for the 2019 cycle so far. Yet another star running back will don the Crimson for the Tide.
