Report: Video Shows Alabama DB Deionte Thompson Kicking 'Incapacitated' Assault Victim In Head

Court documents say that video shows Alabama defensive back Deionte Thompson kicking an incapacitated man in the head during the spring break brawl that he was wanted in relation to earlier this month.

The Decatur Daily filed this report after obtaining the documents through a public records request:

A video recording shows Alabama sophomore defensive back Deionte Thompson and another person kicking an 18-year-old victim in the head while he was incapacitated on the ground during a March 18 assault in Crystal Beach, Texas, according to court documents.

Thompson, 20, is among four individuals — including 18-year-olds Morris and Rufus Joseph and Daletredricc Wolfford, 21 — police identified in connection with a spring break assault on 18-year-old Noah Frillou, who court records show suffered major injuries to his face — including breaking both orbital areas and the maxillary bone, which holds the teeth, into three pieces.

Thompson has been released on a $200,000 bond after turning himself into Tuscaloosa police on April 14. Between the spring break incident and last Friday, he participated in Alabama spring practice.

Last week, Thompson's father had multiple tweets defending his son after the initial reports of the incident emerged.

In that spirit, we will update as more comes out about the situation, but the description of the video is not a positive update for Thompson.

Alabama has not yet made a decision about Thompson's status. Last week, head coach Nick Saban said the program is "in the process of gathering all of the facts."
