Alabama RB Derrick Gore Announces Transfer

Derrick Gore, a reserve running back at Alabama, announced his transfer from the program on Wednesday night.

Gore, who is a Crimson Tide walk-on, posted to Instagram to announce the next move in his college football career, thanking coaches Nick Saban and Burton Burns in the process.

Gore rushed for 93 yards on 18 carries this year, scoring one touchdown. He also blocked a big punt against Florida in the SEC Championship game.

Gore walked on at 'Bama after transferring in from Coffeyville Community College, where he played after a prep school stint at Milford Academy. He had MAC offers after a big-time high school career in Syracuse, NY, according to a Scout piece on him from 2015. Now, with a bunch of rushers ahead of him on the depth chart in Tuscaloosa, he'll look to find a more open situation for his final two collegiate seasons.
