One of the top players in the 2021 recruiting class made a significant announcement this afternoon. Five-star defensive end Dylan Brooks went on Twitter to announce his top 15.
Brooks is the No. 2 defensive end and No. 24 overall recruit from his 2021 class, per 247Sports. The Alabama native holds offers from 20 schools, but five of those that extended scholarships are now out of the sweepstakes.
“First off, I want to thank GOD for giving me this opportunity. I also want to thank my family, coaches, and teammates,” Brooks wrote on Twitter. “But for right now these are the 15 schools that I want to focus my attention toward in my recruiting process moving forward.”
The 15 programs on his list are Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Mississippi State, Nebraska, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M.
Each school remaining in the hunt for Brooks gives him the chance to play against elite competition.

Brooks has plenty of time before making his final decision. Nonetheless, it’s pretty clear that he’s interested in playing in the SEC.
Alabama and Auburn appear to be the current front-runners for Brooks’ commitment. It could come down to these rival programs battling it out for the five-star recruit.
We’ll provide an update on Brooks’ recruiting process in the future when he narrows down his options.
