The college football season is six weeks old and we’re finally starting to get picture of the legitimate contenders in each conference.
Once again, the most loaded conference in the country is the SEC, which boasts several top-10 teams.
Last weekend the Florida Gators took down the previously unbeaten Auburn Tigers in Gainesville to keep their undefeated season alive. Florida is just one of four currently undefeated programs in the SEC.
That number will change this weekend when the Gators face off against fellow unbeaten LSU.
The Gators and Tigers are off to strong starts this season and the winner of Saturday’s game will be in the conversation as the top team in the country.
Despite their success this season, one team remains king.
Nick Saban and the Alabama Crismon Tide are favored to win the SEC yet again. According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, Alabama has a 50.4-percent chance to win the SEC.
Georgia has the second-best odds to win the conference, at 27.5-percent.
If LSU takes down Florida this weekend, the winner of the LSU-Alabama game will likely represent the West in the SEC title game. The Bulldogs are their most-likely foe, but the Gators proved they are for real against Auburn last weekend.
