It is only Week 3 of the college football season but you can already circle the Alabama-LSU game on November 9 as one to watch.
Right now, both teams are in the top five. There’s a chance that game in Tuscaloosa could decide the SEC West.
Of course, Alabama still has to play at Texas A&M while LSU must face Florida. A lot can change in the next two months.
The ESPN FPI prediction for the annual rivalry will adjust as well leading up to the game. Right now, it heavily favors Alabama, as you might expect.
Currently, the FPI gives Alabama a 70.4 percent chance to beat LSU.
No matter what is or isn’t at stake on November 9, this will be an important opportunity for LSU to get off the schneid against the Crimson Tide.
Alabama has won the last eight meetings, starting with the BCS National Championship Game following the 2011 season. Six of those eight games have been decided by 10 points or more, and Alabama has pitched shutouts in three of them.
LSU’s last win in the series came on November 5, 2011 in Tuscaloosa.
