Former Alabama Quarterback Says Blake Barnett Reminds Him Of Joe Namath

Blake Barnett arrived in Tuscaloosa, Ala. as one of the highest-rated quarterback recruits Nick Saban has ever gotten.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound prospect was a five-star recruit ranked the No. 2 pro-style QB in the class by 247Sports' Composite Rankings

Barnett redshirted last season and is one of four Alabama quarterbacks competing for the starting job this summer.

Former Crimson Tide quarterback Walter Lewis certainly thinks highly of him. Lewis, who played at Alabama in the early 1980s, says Barnett reminds him of legendary QB Joe Namath.

Before starring in the NFL, Namath played at Alabama under Paul "Bear" Bryant from 1962-64, leading the program to a national title his final season.

Is Barnett the man you want under center this fall, Crimson Tide fans?

Most analysts think Jalen Hurts or Cooper Bateman will win the job.
