Nick Saban still has plenty of coaching years left in the tank, but many are already contemplating who Saban’s replacement will eventually be.
There’s no question Alabama is one of the best jobs in college football. Needless to say, dozens of coaches across the country will be submitting their resume once Saban decides to retire.
But one coach in particular is the best replacement option for Saban, when the time comes. Former Alabama star Bradley Bozeman thinks Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is the best potential candidate for the Crimson Tide.
Swinney’s been one of the few coaches to challenge Saban over the years. Bozeman would love to see it happen:
“My personal choice would be Dabo Swinney,” Bozeman said on Reddit. “He’s an alum and one heck of a coach and a great man. Probably will never happen but a guy can hope!”
Plenty of Tide fans would definitely agree here. Swinney’s one of the best coaches in the sport, perhaps just behind Saban.
The Alabama alum is practically the perfect fit for the Tide job once it opens up. But it’s highly unlikely Swinney leaves Clemson after having so much success.
Saban’s retirement still seems a few years away, but Swinney is already a wanted candidate.
