Alabama receiver Henry Ruggs was one of the most explosive athletes during his three-year college career. Now, he’s set to take his skill-set to the NFL. But before doing so, Ruggs is looking to make a statement at the NFL Scouting Combine.
There’s several key components of the combine that receivers especially want to excel at. For Ruggs, the 40-yard dash provides the perfect opportunity to show off his burst and overall speed.
The former Alabama receiver is expected to run at least a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash. But Alabama slot receiver Jaylen Waddle – Ruggs’ former teammate – thinks Ruggs is going to tie a combine record.
Waddle predicts Ruggs will run a 4.22 forty-yard dash in the upcoming combine. If Ruggs can pull that off, it would tie the NFL Combine record, set by former Washington receiver John Ross a few years ago.
4.22 I’m calling it !!! https://t.co/preFV8TFJ8

If Ruggs can run a 4.22 forty-yard dash in the upcoming combine, there’s no doubt he’s going to climb up in the 2020 NFL Draft. Teams need speed at the receiver position, and Ruggs certainly provides just that.
Receivers are always a hot commodity in the draft. There’s a good chance Ruggs is taken in the first round if he has a good combine performance.
