Joel Klatt Thinks Alabama Could Miss The College Football Playoff
Alabama is only four days removed from a shocking loss against Vanderbilt.
The Crimson Tide came into the contest as the No. 1 team in the country with a 4-0 record but allowed 40 points and lost by five, 40-35. It came one week after they beat the Georgia Bulldogs at home in a wild back-and-forth game.
Despite the loss, the Tide have everything still in front of them but Joel Klatt thinks they could miss the College Football Playoff due to how tough their schedule is.
“But, if I were to tell you that they were going to miss the playoff, you start to look at that schedule and you start to think, ‘Okay, with one loss already in the bag, they would have to through that gauntlet only losing one game,'” Klatt said, (first transcribed by On3). “Because I think three losses would put them on the outside looking in, even with that win against Georgia."
The Tide have a very winnable game against the South Carolina Gamecocks at home this Saturday before they go to Knoxville to take on the No. 8 Tennessee Volunteers.
After that, they'll host the No. 21 Missouri Tigers before traveling to Baton Rouge to play the Tigers of LSU.
They'll have to run the gauntlet if they want to win the SEC and get into the College Football Playoff.
Kickoff for Saturday's Alabama-South Carolina game will be at Noon ET.
