As we reach the end of the 2019-20 school year, the top recruits in the 2020 basketball recruiting classes are rapidly making their commitments. Among them is 2020 four-star Joshua Primo, who has just committed to an SEC giant.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, Primo announced that he is “112% committed” to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama was the only school Primo made an official visit to in the past year.
247Sports rates Primo as the No. 47 overall prospect in the country in the Class of 2020. He is the No. 8 combo guard in the nation, and the No. 1 prospect from the state of Ohio.
Primo told 247Sports in an interview that his relationship with head coach Nate Oats played a major factor. “I chose to commit to Alabama and I think the biggest reason why I picked them is I had such a good relationship with coach Nate Oats,” Primo said.
“He spoke with me and my family a lot and made it really clear what the vision was for me and my college career and that vision is what I had for myself.”

Primo is the second player to join Alabama’s 2020 recruiting class, alongside four-star forward Keon Ambrose-Hylton.
Alabama’s class now ranks No. 42 in the nation, and No. 9 in the SEC, according to 247Sports.
After going just 16-15 in Oats’ first year at the helm, he’ll definitely be looking to make some big improvements in Year Two.
