Kenyan Drake Says His Perceived Dig At Georgia Was "Taken Out Of Context"

Alabama running back Kenyan Drake found himself in a bit of hot water with Georgia fans Wednesday, after he told the Macon Telegraphthat he chose to play for the Crimson Tide over the Bulldogs because he likes to be a "winner." Drake, who was a UGA fan as a child, added that he thought Alabama would put him in the "best position" to be the person he wanted to be.

“I think it was because of the fact that it was Alabama and I like to be a winner,” Drake said, when asked why he chose the Crimson Tide over Georgia. “Honestly, at the end of the day, going to Alabama would put me in the best position to be the person I want to be on and off the field.”

But after his quotes went viral, Drake took to Twitter to defend himself. He told his followers that his words were taken "out of context" and included a link to a tweet with the quote in question.

In reality, Drake's comments likely weren't meant to imply that Georgia isn't a winning program, or that he couldn't have had success there. But it does show that Alabama, at least to recruits, is looked at on another level.
