Although Alabama and Texas aren't set to battle each other this season, the two prestigious programs could clash for four-star recruit Miller Moss.

Recruiting premier talent is always a priority for football programs, but it becomes magnified even more when the prospect plays quarterback. Well, it appears a recruiting war could brew in the coming months for Moss.

Moss is the No. 9 pro-style quarterback in his class, per 247Sports. The six-foot-two gunslinger has all the potential to lead a collegiate offense in the future.

Last week, Alabama extended a scholarship to Moss after watching him perform well at his official visit.

From 247Sports:

“It was amazing,” Moss said. “My expectations were high going into it, and it exceeded every prior expectation I had. I had never really been to the south before, and just to see the culture was cool. People talk about it being a different breed, and that’s one hundred percent true. Everything was first class, and coach (Nick) Saban was absolutely wonderful to talk to.”

The Crimson Tide will be hard to ignore throughout Moss' recruitment process, but it sounds like he is also very fond of the Longhorns, after meeting with their coaches at a camp.

“That relationship is just getting started,” Moss said. “What I’m super optimistic about is Texas is a school I’d consider even if football wasn’t involved. That’s a huge thing for me when I’m looking at different schools. Just from an academic standpoint it’s a super important thing for me and my family. Any school that can provide top one percent in football and academics is super huge for me.”

Moss plans on scheduling a Texas recruiting tour, which includes visits to UT, TCU and Texas A&M.

Several top programs have shown interest in Moss, as he already holds offers from Michigan, LSU and Auburn.
