Nick Saban Is Starring In A New Series Of Aflac Commercials

Nick Saban stars in a new Aflac commercial.

Aflac

Nick Saban doesn't always put himself out there, but the legendary Alabama head coach has been known to appear in a commercial or two here and there. We've seen him appear in ads for local banks, and Mercedes-Benz, of which he part-owns a dealership in Alabama.

Now, Saban is bringing his recruiting magic to the small screen for a major national brand. He has recorded a series of spots for Aflac.

Recruiting is at the center of the commercials. In one called "The Visit," Saban sits down with a couple to try and convince them to switch to Aflac.

The other two commercials follow a similar theme. The second is titled "Campus Tour," while the final is calling "Commitment Day."

Given Saban's recruiting acumen, which has led to a bevy of recent No. 1-ranked classes, it's hard to think of a more apropos theme for these Aflec commercials.

Nick Saban released a statement about his Aflec sponsorship along with the commercials being released online. From AL.com:

“I am excited to take on this health issue because health insurance doesn’t always cover everything, and I want to help Aflac recruit hardworking Americans so they can better protect themselves and their families,” Saban said in an Aflac press release. “When I’m sitting down with a top recruit, I know there is a lot of competition out there, so I need to be honest about why choosing my team is the best option. I think we create more value for the player just like Aflac creates that same kind of value for its customers – for most people, not having supplemental insurance coverage could be like playing the game of life without a complete team.”

Expect to see these plenty throughout the year. AL.com says that the first will debut on Saturday, the start of the college football season. The second will begin to run at mid-season, and the third will debut during the SEC Championship Game.
