While Alabama handled their business against Louisiana-Lafayette, the topic of conversation was Jalen Hurts appearing in his fifth game of the season, ending the possibility of him redshirting this year.
Hurts made it clear he wasn't going to transfer this season, as the Crimson Tide backup quarterback received playing time today. Despite only throwing the ball six times, the dynamic athlete had 118 passing yards and a touchdown.
Following the game, head coach Nick Saban spent time talking about Hurts' decision to remain in Tuscaloosa. Regardless of all the controversy, Alabama's coaching staff is obviously appreciative of their junior quarterback.
Hurts could possibly leave Alabama in the future, but he won't leave them hanging right now. Besides, he's playing exceptionally well during his time on the field.
Now, the Crimson Tide can move forward without any talk about Hurts moving on from the defending champions.
If today's performance was indicative of how Alabama will play the remainder of the season, they will be playoff bound.
Next weekend, Alabama will face Arkansas on the road.
