The Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers have the weekend off before they battle in a game with College Football Playoff implications.

Alabama and LSU are likely playing for the chance to represent the SEC West in the conference title game. The winner also has a legitimate shot to make the College Football Playoff - assuming they take care of business in their remaining games.

A major question mark facing the Crimson Tide before next Saturday's game is the health of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Tua suffered a high ankle sprain against Tennessee. He has since had surgery and has been rehabbing the injury.

On Wednesday morning, head coach Nick Saban offered an injury update for his star quarterback before the biggest game of the season. Saban revealed Tua will practice this afternoon and is a game-time decision.

It sounds like Tagovailoa will be back on the field for the game against the Tigers next weekend. However, if he's forced to miss the game, the Tide will once again turn to Mac Jones.

Jones completed 18-of-22 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns against Arkansas last Saturday.

Alabama fans obviously want Tua back on the field against LSU, but they have a capable backup if Tua can't get healthy.
