Five-star guard Nimari Burnett has garnered dozens of offers in the past year. With top basketball schools all vying for his commitment, Burnett has decided to narrow the field.
In a video released on Twitter, Burnett announced that he has reduced his college list to five. His schools include Alabama, Louisville, Michigan, Oregon, and Texas Tech.
247Sports rates Burnett as the No. 23 overall prospect in the country. He is the No. 5 combo guard in the nation, and the No. 7 prospect from the state of Illinois.
So far Burnett has scheduled visits in the fall to three of the schools on his list. He’ll be visiting Michigan on September 6, Louisville on September 13 and Alabama on September 27.

Burnett is coming off a solid showing for Team Why Not on the Nike EYBL. He averaged 19.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 20 games for coach DeAndre Archie.
It’s certainly interesting to see a five-star like Burnett avoiding some of the NCAA blue bloods, but all five programs are consistent presences in the NCAA Tournament.
Per 247Sports’ Crystal Ball Predictions, the early favorite to land Burnett is Alabama. It would be quite a coup for the Crimson Tide, who have landed only two five-star recruits in the past decade.
