A New York Daily News columnist took a few shots at Alabama head coach Nick Saban on Thursday morning.

The Alabama Senate race was an ugly one, and in the end, Democrat Doug Jones ended up defeating Republican Roy Moore. One New York columnist is a bit upset that Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban didn't get involved.

Chuck Modiano wrote a piece on Thursday morning titled "Nick Saban is a clueless coward for his silence on Roy Moore."

In the article, Modiano says that he believes that Saban should have spoken out against Moore, who is alleged to have sexually harassed and assaulted teenage girls. He says that it could have been Saban's "shining moment."

Here's what Modiano had to say:

The lead-up to Roy Moore and Doug Jones' election Tuesday should have been Saban’s shining career moment to show true leadership and humanity.

By remaining silent on the numerous allegations that Moore was a pedophile, Saban showed he does not care about the plight or protection of young women and girls.

He also criticized Saban for not speaking out against Moore's quotes on slavery.

Saban, who is one of the most popular men in the state, usually avoids talking politics. You can read Modiano's entire piece here.
