Oklahoma added "the biggest recruit in college football history" on Wednesday, with Jalen Hurts opting to transfer into the Sooners' program.

Hurts, who had interest from several major programs, chose Oklahoma over Miami and Maryland, among other schools.

A quote from Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley was making the rounds on social media following Hurts' decision.

Riley had previously told Oklahoma five-star quarterback recruit Spencer Rattler that he wouldn't be taking any transfers.

Rattler is fine with the move, though.

Oklahoma's five-star recruit revealed that Riley called him and explained the move.

“Coach Riley called me and he’s always upfront with me,” Rattler told 247Sports. “I kind of knew it was coming because I saw Austin Kendall in the transfer portal and had a good idea we’d be bringing in a transfer quarterback. Coach Riley called me, he’s always upfront with me and keeps it real and said he’s looking at a couple guys and Jalen Hurts is visiting soon. He said we need an older quarterback in the room and I have no problem with that and I agree with him.”

Hurts will be eligible to play right away in 2019 and he has just one season of eligibility remaining.

So, Hurts should start for the 2019 season and then Rattler can come in and start in 2020.

Oklahoma will be competing for another College Football Playoff spot in 2019. The Sooners should start the season ranked inside the top 10.
