The SEC had three teams in the top four of last year's inaugural College Football Playoff rankings. One college football analyst believes they'll have two tonight.
ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum believes LSU and, surprisingly, Alabama, will both be in the top four of the first College Football Playoff rankings. Finebaum believes the committee recognizes the SEC has the best conference in the country and will value the Crimson Tide's quality of wins and quality of play.
He revealed his predicted foursome on ESPN's College Football Live. His foursome also included Ohio State and Clemson.
Last year's initial top four featured: Mississippi State, Florida State, Auburn and Ole Miss. Only one of those teams, FSU, ended up making the College Football Playoff. The team that won it all, Ohio State, was ranked No. 16 in the initial rankings.
So, tonight's rankings won't mean much. It'll be fun to watch, though.
The College Football Playoff selection committee's rankings are set to be released tonight at 7 p.m. E.T. on ESPN.
